Dear Parents,
This weekend there will be NO written homework in honor of Mother’s Day! I hope all moms will be able to relax and enjoy the very important holiday.
Monday – Walk-a-thon money due for the Mets ticket drawing.
Tuesday – Gym day. Each child will be getting a slice of Dominos Pizza as a reward for the class contribution to the Leukemia Foundation. Please provide a drink and snack to go along with the pizza.
Wednesday – Pizza money due. Library book due.
Thursday – School is OPEN. We will be attending Mass as a class. Pizza day. Gym day.
Friday - Half-day. 11:45 A.M. dismissal. Faculty meeting.
* Please remember to support our Walk-a-thon. If you have not sent in your money, please do so this week. Everyone is welcome to walk along with the class on that day. We will have a drawing for 2 Mets tickets for Wednesday’s game for all those families who have sent in their money for the Walk-a-thon by Monday, May 14th.
*I will begin to assess the children for the last trimester report card. Review the sound out words along with the high frequency words you have so far. In math I have been working on addition and subtraction with numbers up to ten. Children should know their prayers. Review address and phone number as well.

Dear Parents,
Welcome back from Easter vacation!! I hope all are well rested and ready for the next couple of months here in Kindergarten. We are getting ready for Earth Day, the Walk-a-thon, the Carnival, and Kindergarten Graduation! There will be lots to do as we prepare for each of the events.
Monday – School resumes.
Tuesday – Gym day. Wear your gym uniform.
Wednesday – Pizza money due.
Thursday – Gym day. Pizza day.
Friday – Earth Day projects are due. Each child will tell about their project and demonstrate how it is used.
Many, many thanks for your support and efforts with the spring show. The children did a wonderful job singing and dancing.

Today’s homework is a page of four sentences in the notebook. Please copy each sentence and practice reading them. The number 14 is in the back of the book. There will be no written homework over the Easter vacation, but do practice the letter sounds of the letters we have covered so far. Use the sound out words you have as a review.

Dear Parents,
Today’s homework is a page of letter ‘Ww’ as in the word watermelon and pictures of words that begin with the w sound. The number 10 is in the back of the book. Please continue to practice the sound out words and the high frequency words. There is a worksheet on use of a calendar and more time, less time to complete.
You will also find a ‘Lenten Egg Tree” and paper eggs with thoughtful deeds printed on the eggs. During Lent your child should be doing some of these deeds and then gluing them on their tree. This tree will show your child his/her growth in love during Lent. This is a Home Activity and it is for personal growth. It is NOT a competition. You do not need to turn it in. Also, your child has received a Mite box. Please encourage your child to do some small sacrifice during Lent and return their donation by the end of the month.

Use this piece of construction paper provided and include pictures, drawings, and/or recipes of what your family does to celebrate Thanksgiving , Christmas, or other holiday from now until the end of December. The book will be put together and each child will have an evening to look at the completed project and a page will be left for comments. PLEASE RETURN THE BOOKLET THE VERY NEXT SCHOOL DAY SO THAT ALL WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO SHARE IN THE FUN. Please return your completed page by Monday, November 21st so that we can begin sending the book home.

There are two math worksheets from chapter 1 (Sorting and Classifying). Please follow the directions found at the bottom of the pages. There is the introduction of chapter 2 – Patterns provided. Play the Pattern math game with your child. Please provide a magazine picture of a family doing something together. We will be making a poster of ‘things families like to do together’.
Work with your child to name objects in your home whose names begin with N and P.
Have your child tell you about a favorite story he or she has listened to this week.

Dear Parents,
Today’s homework is a page of the letter ‘Ss’ and pictures of words that begin with the ‘s’ sound as in the word sun. Use the sheet of pictures provided and color the pictures, cut out the ones that begin with the ‘s’ sound, and glue them in the space provided. Complete the worksheet on the word a and read the sentences together.
In the supermarket, help your child find things that begin with the letters Tt and Ss. Tell your child stories about how he or she has grown and changed since he or she was a baby. Ask your child to read you a story and tell you about his or her favorite part.
Monday – Homework book due. Worksheet due. Send in a picture of your child when they were baptized. We will be discussing the sacrament of Baptism. The picture will be returned to you this week.

Today’s homework is a page of ‘Mm’ and pictures of words that begin with the ‘m’ sound as in the word mitten. Color the pictures first, then cut out the pictures and glue them in the notebook on the page provided. Please practice on separate paper before you write in the homework book. DO NOT TEAR PAGES OUT OF THE HOMEWORK BOOK. Write the high-frequency word I on the page and read the sentences together. You can color the pets.
Read a story to your child. Stop and ask your child to make a guess about what might happen next.
Write the alphabet on a sheet of paper. Have your child point to and name the letters he or she has learned this week.

There is no homework book this week, but please work with your child on counting to ten, colors and shapes. Practice prayers. Please encourage your child to talk about his/her first days in the classroom. Ask him/her to sing a song for you, talk about the weather, what letter was discussed, etc. Work with your child to name objects in your home and neighborhood whose names begin with Mm and Ss. Have your child tell you about a favorite story he or she has listened to this week.

IMPORTANT-
Go through your child’s class folder every night. Folders need to come to school every day. This is the best way to communicate with you concerning messages, announcements, and pizza – dress-down - orders, etc.
Please return all computer forms, signed, so that your child may participate in computer class. Thank you for all your co-operation, and it was wonderful meeting you at Thursday’s orientation.
