One of the most important contributions you can make to your child’s progress in school is to give him/her complete assurance of love and security in the home, and to develop a friendly attitude toward school and teachers.

Parents are asked to see that their children have their lunch with them each day.  If they forget their lunch it can be dropped off in the main office.
Parent Information

Please notify the classroom teacher and the school office immediately, if you should have a change in phone number or address.  This notice must be given in writing.

The preferred time for student arrival is not before 7:55 AM.  The doors open for school at 7:55 AM and the school will not be responsible for the safety of any children who arrive before then.  All students must enter school at the 124th Street side entrance between 7:55 and 8:10 AM.

It will be the student’s responsibility to personally check with the teacher or teachers involved to determine work that has been missed during an absence and the possibility of make-up work where the teacher feels it is necessary.

Leaving School Grounds: All children must eat lunch in school and are never permitted to leave the school property to go to a local store.

No student is ever permitted to chew gum in school or to even have gum with them.  We ask parents’ assistance in enforcing this school rule.
Any student found marking or defacing school property either on the inside or outside of the building will pay an appropriate fine and will also be expected to give hours of volunteer service to the school in their free time.  It is the obligation of the entire school community to take pride in our school property.
If you must drive your children to school, please stop a block away and walk them.  The congestion in the morning and at dismissal is becoming hazardous for our children.  Please do not gather at the school doors, but rather choose a corner across the street from the school where you can meet your child, especially for Grades 3 and up.  The greatest threats to our children’s safety are the cars of our own parents.  Double parking should never take place, so let us make an effort to do more walking to school.

Crisis Management-in the event of an emergency, students may be picked up from the auditorium.

Photographs
From time to time, students’ photos will be used on the school website, in the Diocesan newspaper (The Tablet), and in various other materials.  At no time will the children’s names appear with the photos.    A permission slip will be sent home and must be filled out for every child attending our school.  Please indicate whether or not you wish your child(ren)’s photos to be used.

The teachers arrange class trips each year for all grade levels and parents are asked, when the time comes, to assist as chaperones on these trips.

All Parents are to enter and leave the school building using the main door on 14th Ave. and 124th street.  No parent is to go to any part of the building other than the general office.
