Aquinas Club

In order to acknowledge a student’s academic accomplishments, the St. Fidelis School Aquinas Club Program will consist of the following:

  1. The program will be open to students in grades 5 through 8 (Grade 5 beginning with the second trimester).
  2. The program will be limited to 6 students per grade level, for a maximum of 24 students.  The 6 students in each grade level with the highest averages, 93 or above, will be invited to participate in the program.  Art, Computer, and Physical Education grades are not included in the average, but may not be below an 87.
  3. The students nominated for participation must have excellent grades, high standardized test scores, and exhibit exemplary character and behavior.
  4. Students will be evaluated each trimester to participate in the program.
  5. Each trimester the students in the club will explore a particular academic theme.  The theme will have several components including research, a presentation, and a field trip (if applicable).
  6. Meetings will be held weekly or semi-monthly depending on the project, and will last for one hour.  The program will begin in October and end in May.
We feel that this is a comprehensive approach to learning for our gifted students.  They are challenged in all areas and new methods of learning are available to them in a manner that encourages new experiences.
